About us

In 1991, a group of enthusiastic, young, educated and committed individuals from various fields, got motivated and organized themselves to do good for others in the society. They have multiple intention for organizing themselves, intended to give something back to the society, particularly the under privileged sections, those who were devoid of even basic needs/ necessities of daily life.
Soon that unorganized effort found a platform called the “Institute of Social Action and Research Activities” (ISARA) and it was felt necessary to register formally for better coordination of various programs of the organization. Thus, ISARA was formally registered as a voluntary organization under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860 on 01.01.1992 and subsequently registered with Ministry of Home Affairs under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976. Rabindranath Patra is the founder member of ISARA.
